To dream of a house is to dream of yourself. Each room represents a different part of who you are.

What does it mean to dream of a house?
The house in dreams tends to represent the whole person: the ground floor speaks of everyday life, the basement of what has been forgotten or stored away, the attic of old memories.
Discovering a new room in a familiar house is one of the most beautiful dreams there is: it reveals parts of yourself not yet explored: talents, ways of being that are waiting to be found.
The condition of the house matters: a house under renovation speaks of a period of personal reconstruction. A house that has been invaded may reveal that your boundaries are being violated. The childhood home often appears when something in the present touches an old emotional foundation.
What you feel inside the dream is the most important guide: the same empty house can mean loneliness for one person and freedom for another.
Common variations
Discovering new rooms
Discovering new rooms reveals parts of yourself not yet explored. It is worth asking which area of your life is asking for more space.
The childhood home
Returning to the childhood home is the unconscious revisiting the place where you were formed: usually when something in the present is touching an old pattern.
A house in ruins or under renovation
A house under construction signals internal changes in progress. The more uncomfortable the renovation, the deeper the change tends to be.
Invasion or intruders in the house
An invasion reveals that something, or someone, is occupying more space than it should in your life. Are your boundaries being respected?
For reflection
In what condition was the house in your dream, and in what condition is your inner life? Which room have you not yet opened? Who have you let into your house?
